I was on my way to a meeting yesterday with our commercial broker, and was walking down a side street in downtown Ann Arbor. As is often the case my eyes were glued to my iPhone and I wasn’t watching where I was going (it must have been a riveting email I was reading). Anyhow I very nearly ended up colliding with this sign, which would have been highly embarrassing and extremely unladylike as I’m quite sure my balance on my 6” high heels was precarious at best.
Fortunately I looked up in the nick of time and my crisis was averted. I ended up taking a photo of the sign, not because I particularly like unicorns but because I thought the message was extremely applicable to you and the work you do.
I don’t know how often you get a pat on the back, but I’m guessing if you’re like most supremely-skilled surgeons it’s not often enough. This sign summed up what you do – everyday. You make the impossible possible. Today you are performing procedures and getting results for your patients that 10 years ago, even 5 years ago seemed practically impossible.
I am constantly in awe of the possibilities of aesthetic medicine, and of your ability to take what God made and improve on it.
So here’s to you! Thank you for all that you do – for helping people see beauty where they might not have before, for restoring lost confidence, for transforming lives and making the world an even more beautiful place.
